Privacy

What we collect and why.

I Talk With God is operated by In The Moment, Ltd. ("we," "us"). We collect only what we need to deliver your daily prayer and run a sustainable membership.

What we collect

Email, name, timezone, optional phone number, payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers), and basic analytics via Google Analytics 4 (page views, referring links, approximate location, device and browser type). See our Cookie Policy and the Advertising and measurement section below.

If you submit a Pay It Forward request, we also collect the first name of the person you are nominating, whether they are under 18, what is needed and why, who would be paid and where, the amount, and any documents you choose to upload as evidence. We never ask for bank details, card numbers, Social Security numbers, or dates of birth, and we pay the biller directly rather than sending money to a personal account.

Advertising and measurement

We advertise I Talk With God on Google, YouTube, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and X. To see which ads bring people to our site and start a free week, we use each platform's measurement tools, both in your browser and from our server when a free week starts. These tools may receive your device's browser information, the pages you visit on our public site, the ad you clicked, and whether you started a free week. We do not share your email, phone number, name, or anything you write or receive in a prayer with any ad platform, and we don't place these tools on member pages.

Under some state laws (including California), this can count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out at any time with the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically, and if you opt out we stop sending your information from our server too.

If you opt out, we still collect anonymous, cookieless page counts so we know how many visits the site gets.

How we use it

To send your daily prayer, run your membership, respond to support requests, and improve the product. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Talk More With God: What We Keep and Why

When you use Talk More With God, we keep what you write, together with the prayer we showed you, so we can improve the prayers we offer. This is read only by the small team that writes them. It is never used to train or prompt an AI, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to hello@italkwithgod.com.

Documents you upload

When you submit a Pay It Forward request you can upload evidence of the need: a photo of a bill, an invoice, a message from a pharmacy. These documents often contain information about someone other than you. Please only upload a document you have that person's permission to share.

We store these files privately. They are visible only to the small review committee that decides requests, never publicly, never to other members, and never to anyone outside that committee. We do not sell them, share them with advertisers, or use them for anything except deciding and reconciling your request.

We delete uploaded documents 90 days after a request is closed or declined. We keep the decision record itself (what was asked, what was approved, and confirmation that the money reached the biller) because we are accountable for every dollar that leaves the fund.

Text Messages / SMS

I Talk With God is delivered by daily text message. That is the core of the service. By creating an account you agree to receive these messages: one prayer text per day. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. We never share your phone number for third-party marketing. We store your consent with a timestamp, and you can disable texts anytime by replying STOP.

Your rights

Email hello@italkwithgod.com to access, export, or delete your data. We respond within 30 days. If you are not a member but believe a document about you was submitted to us, email the same address. You have the same right to know what we hold and to have it deleted.

Children

The service is for adults. Only someone 18 or over can create an account, and we do not knowingly let anyone under 18 create an account or submit a request.

A Pay It Forward request may name a person under 18 as the person in need, a parent asking for help with a child's medical bill, for example. When that happens, the adult submitting the request confirms they are doing so on that child's behalf, and we collect only the child's first name along with the details of the need. We never collect a child's date of birth, contact details, or any identifier beyond a first name.
